The Speed Of Time

The Speed Time

Stopping by the woods on a snowy Evening
By Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch these woods fill up with snow.

My little horse might think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and he frozen lake
On the darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bell a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Entry One: The Meaning Of My Blog
The name of my blog “The Speed Of Time” because this poem talks of the world being rushed.  The man just needs to stop and observe the world go “round”.   I believe that it is essential to stop and just observe the movements and appreciate the still quietness.  I enjoy this poem and it is very easy to understand the context of the poem which dose not happen often.

Entry Two: Response To The Raven
I believe that the poem The Raven By Edgar Allen Poe has stood the test of time for over one hundred sixty-six years because of many reasons.  They are; it a well written classic poem, it is very dark and unusual, and it is arguably the best poem ever.  It is a very well written and this is essential to make a poem great.  It has a very good rhythm, and the tone that is created through his lyrics are very good.  The tone is also very essential.  If there is a very distinct tone, no matter what the tone is, it turn a good poem great.  Secondly the poem The Raven is very dark and unusual. Out of context it says that the raven makes him go insane, which makes it very dark and depressing.  These attributes make people remember the poem.  It is very unusual for the time the and now.  It was written by an arguably crazy man, therefor it is also a little crazy.  This is very unusual and these are the things, contrary to popular belief, that make a good poem, book, and any piece of literature.  Finally it is arguably one of the best poems ever written.  It has man attributes which make people enjoy reading and discussing it for educational and enjoyment purposes.  If it a very good piece of literature it is likely to be read for man years to come.  To conclude the poem The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe has stood the test of time for many reasons.

I cannot upload entry 3.

Entry 4: Where I’m From

I am from beef jerky, from Jack Links, and Oh Boy!
I am from the sweet, sweet country air, that smells oh so good.
I am from grass, the sunflowers.
I am from hunting, and kindness from Mom and Dad and Brad.
I am from the woods and farm.
From where their are no tornados.
I am from Sunday school and bake sales.
I am from Goderich, from steak and roast beef.
I am from the land where cows have paws and chicken wings are weighed in libs.
I am from Canada, the place I call home.

Entry 5: Media and Poem Relations

I can relate the poem Dulce Et Decorum Est to the modern media movie Waging Peace because it actually shows and says what war is truly like. In the media it is portrayed as a glorious thing to take park of and that it should be the life for everyone.  Actually it is the opposite, it is a very hard journey both physically and mentally. It takes one to limits they didn’t know they had and this is often a bad thing.  The media and everyone who actually has not been to or seen real war makes war to be a glorious thing and in both these elements it shows the truth.

Entry 6: Poem

The tears of the angels,
Cannot extinguish this fire that has built inside,
The ever growing feeling,
The ever growing wonder,
Will you be mine at last?
Will I be the one to wipe the tears as they pass?
The one,
To hold you from the darkness that lurks inside our souls?
The one,
to keep our hearts lit forever?
